近期,武漢大學化學與分子科學學院付磊教授課題組設計了一種納米Ni5P4團簇鑲嵌的NiCo2O4納米片複合催化劑(“珍珠薯片”結構),在堿性條件下水電解過程中表現出了較好的催化性能。他們先通過水熱反應和空氣煆燒得到了NiO鑲嵌的NiCo2O4納米片,再通過一個低溫磷化過程將NiO轉化成Ni5P4,從而得到了該催化劑。基於堿性環境下的氫析出反應機理,他們證明了NiCo2O4與Ni5P4分別在電化學析氫反應過程中的水分子分裂過程(Volmer step)以及氫脫附過程(Tafel step)中起到了促進作用,從而協同實現了堿性環境下的高效產氫。最終,該催化劑在1.0 M KOH溶液中的起始電位低至−15 mV,10 mA cm−2時對應的過電勢僅為27 mV,且Tafel斜率僅為27mV dec−1,優於已報道的其他氫析出催化劑。此外其穩定性極好,經過4000次循環伏安掃描或45小時的恒電流反應後性能仍保持良好。此外,該催化劑對析氧反應也有很好的催化性能並可用於電催化全解水
